"If I Had You" is a song by the popular group The Carpenters. It was popularized by the Carpenters in 1989 with the release of their album Lovelines. Its B-side was "Lovelines". "If I Had You" was recorded by Karen Carpenter during her solo sessions in New York with producer Phil Ramone. It became a Carpenters song by being released on a Carpenters album. However, the song was purely Karen's, as Richard was not interested in recording at the time. However, Richard mastered the final edit of the song.
